RBB Systems, Inc.

RBB Systems, Inc., which specializes in electronic solutions for industry, needed someone to create their entire media package – newsletters, press releases, trade show documention and, eventually, their web site. While lots of truly brilliant people work for RBB, the vast majority of them are engineers and not writers or graphic designers.

I began working for RBB Systems in 1996 as their 'media specialist.' Working with the president of the company and a couple of the upper management folks, I was largely responsible for all the copy writing, layout and design, illustration, photo editing and even the handoff to the service providers. I conducted interviews for the Employee Spotlight section of their newsletter, Technology Update, wrote and illustrated the majority of the articles and, basically, learned how to wear many, many hats.

The toolbox for this project included Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and PageMaker for the print work and Acrobat for the eventual PDF translations.
