A nice little essay chiding all these special-effects movies for not doing anything really original.  Seriously, that&#8217;s the entire essay.  And he&#8217;s right, of course&#8230;  It makes me think that some of the best special effects I&#8217;ve seen lately were the little touches in <i>Amelie<\/i> when the characters in her bedroom came to life &#150; special effects that are truly special, not like the rubber critters in <i>Van Helsing<\/i> or <i>Hellboy.<\/i><br \/>\nDon&#8217;t know where I&#8217;m going with this, particularly.
