Right now, actually."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over at Michael Chabon&#8217;s website, there&#8217;s a nice essay about how he spent five years on a novel called <a title=\"Fountain City\" href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelchabon.com\/FC.html\">Fountain City<\/a>, which never materialized.  This sounds like me right now.  Like, a lot.<br \/>\nThe lesson I&#8217;m taking away from this is a reassurance that <i>good stories tell themselves,<\/i> and if the two novels I have in the works are albatrosses, I should go back to square one and try something else.
