{"id":1872,"date":"2009-07-16T17:15:10","date_gmt":"2009-07-16T17:15:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.geoffreylong.com\/wordpress\/?p=1872"},"modified":"2009-07-16T17:15:10","modified_gmt":"2009-07-16T17:15:10","slug":"carneyvale-showtime-named-to-the-2009-pax-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.geoffreylong.com\/wordpress\/archives\/1872","title":{"rendered":"CarneyVale: Showtime named to the 2009 PAX 10!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-illustration\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/php-bin\/news_index.php?story=24459\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gambit.mit.edu\/images\/pax10.jpg\" alt=\"PAX 10\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p>GAMBIT&#8217;s high-flying <i><a href=\"http:\/\/gambit.mit.edu\/loadgame\/showtime.php\">CarneyVale: Showtime<\/a><\/i> is about to hit a new height: appearing as one of the 10 best games of 2009 at the Penny Arcade Expo!<br \/>\nAccording to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/php-bin\/news_index.php?story=24459\">Gamasutra&#8217;s Leigh Alexander<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Organizers have chosen the 10 best games from over 150 submissions to be showcased at Penny Arcade&#8217;s PAX consumer event this year, including <i>CarneyVale: Showtime<\/i> and <i>Osmos.<\/i><br \/>\nNow in its second year, the PAX 10 is designed to highlight the efforts of indie game creators working on original, self-funded and self-published, fully playable, non-mod game projects across all platforms.<br \/>\nThe developers of the top ten games will be given four exhibitor passes each to the Penny Arcade Expo to be held September 4 to 6, and will showcase the games in a special booth at the show.<br \/>\nThe PAX 10 selections are as follows:<br \/>\n<i>CarneyVale: Showtime<\/i> by the Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab (Xbox 360)<br \/>\n<i>Closure<\/i> by Tyler Glaiel and Jon Schubbe (PC)<br \/>\n<i>Fieldrunners<\/i> by Subatomic Studios (iPhone)<br \/>\n<i>Liight<\/i> by Studio Walljump (Wii)<br \/>\n<i>Machinarium<\/i> by Amanita Design (PC)<br \/>\n<i>Osmos<\/i> by Hemisphere Games (PC)<br \/>\n<i>Puzzle Bloom<\/i> by Team Shotgun (PC)<br \/>\n<i>Tag: The Power of Paint<\/i> by Tag Team (PC)<br \/>\n<i>Trino<\/i> by Trinoteam (Xbox 360)<br \/>\n<i>What is Bothering Carl?<\/i> by Story Fort (PC)<br \/>\nPAX, organized by popular <i>Penny Arcade<\/i> comic creators Jerry &#8220;Tycho&#8221; Holkins and Mike &#8220;Gabe&#8221; Krahulik, first featured the PAX 10 last year, with finalists whittled down from more than 80 submissions.
