Schneider makes some interesting comments about Movable Type over at Free Range LIbrarian, in her post <a href=\"http:\/\/freerangelibrarian.com\/2006\/11\/movable_type_declaring_victory.php\">Movable Type: Declaring Victory and Moving On<\/a>.  I&#8217;m not yet to the breakup stage of my relationship with Movable Type, but I may implement some of the things she&#8217;s tried  Media Manager sounds awesome.\n<\/li>\n<li>Also in the make-my-blog-better category: <i>Smashing Magazine<\/i> has an intriguing post up called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smashingmagazine.com\/2006\/11\/24\/buzz-monitoring-observing-und-tracking\/\">Web 2.0: Buzz-Monitoring and Tracking<\/a>. HM published Harvey Pekar&#8217;s <i>Best American Comics 2006,<\/i> but the software company is apparently primarily interested in HM&#8217;s textbook business. I doubt it would help.\n<\/li>\n<li>Twitter&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/smithmag\">six-word story contest<\/a> is an interesting concept.  I may have to get in on that.  Presented in conjuntion with <a href=\"http:\/\/smithmag.net\/\">Smith Magazine<\/a>, which looks pretty sharp.\n<\/li>\n<li>I am highly intrigued by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mechademia.org\/\">Mechademia: An Academic Journal for Anime, Manga and the Fan Arts<\/a>.  True to the academic model, the deadline for the Call for Papers for the <i>Fall 2008<\/i> issue is <i>January 7, 2007.<\/i>  A year and a half production window per issue?\n<\/li>\n<li>Grand Text Auto points to a <a href=\"http:\/\/grandtextauto.gatech.edu\/2006\/11\/29\/digital-writing-fellowship-deadline\/\">Digital Writing Fellowship<\/a> available over at the <a href=\"http:\/\/brown.edu\/Departments\/Literary_Arts\/\">Literary Arts program at Brown University<\/a>, which I&#8217;d consider applying to if I weren&#8217;t reluctant to start collecting Master&#8217;s degrees.
